Student Support

At St Joseph’s we have a strong commitment to ensuring that we cater to the needs of each individual student. This vision for learning is promoted and implemented by all teachers within a whole school approach to differentiated learning.

We recognise that learning is a continuous journey and is unique to each individual and therefore to ensure that we are supporting students most effectively, student achievement and progress is monitored and tracked from Prep to Year 6. To continue to provide students with current educational practices, staff regularly participate in professional learning and networking across the Learning Areas.

St Joseph's has an active Student Support Team comprising of the Guidance Counsellor, Support Teacher - Inclusive Education and Principal.  The Student Support Team meet regularly to discuss individual student needs and to formulate appropriate support.  We also have access to BCE support staff (including a Speech Pathologist), and other outside specialists and organisations (e.g. Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, CPL, Autism Queensland)
